The 2002 Holiday Light display in full-circle virtual mode. There are

One of the wonderful things to do in Coos County during the Christmas
Holidays is to visit Shore Acres State Park and tour the Holiday Light Display
at the Botanical Gardens. The lights are on from Thanksgiving to New Years, 4
p.m. until 10 p.m. Admission to the park (as of this writing) is $3. The light
display is free and includes hot cider and cookies served by volunteer hosts.
The whole community pitches in to make this even a success -- serving cookies
and punch, answering questions, and even singing carols.

To give you a feeling of the event, and so that you can take it back home
with you after you've visited, the original screen saver shows the holiday lights against a background of
seasonal songs. The pictures are mine,
taken with Kodak 120 and Sony digital cameras. the "Twelve Days of
Christmas"*
The volunteers have been busy the last few years with a couple of new
additions to the show and they have renewed the old ones. The animated
and stationary shapes have been reworked using tube lights, and a new animated
"Sea Lions" sculpture has been added. Word to the photographers
out there - the light intensity of the blue colored tube lights makes
photographing the animated pieces a bit of a challenge - but well worth the
effort.
The screen savers are produced using Screen Saver Builder
software from MG Shareware and registered to
my good friend (and owner of the Sony camera) Laurel Tofflemire. I'm sorry, but at this time the screen saver is only for IBM compatible computers running Windows 95 or above, I haven't figured out how to build a
Macintosh compatible screen saver using my
Windows computer.
*Right
click on icon after song title for player controls. Songs need a midi player
like Microsoft Windows Media Player 7.0 or Crescendo Live

Shore Acres Summer and Shore
Acres Roses screen savers!
Both contain pictures taken in July 2000 at the garden. The Roses were
at their fullest glory and the Dahlias were just beginning to bloom. The
garden was as peaceful and quiet as I have ever seen it - even the ocean was
unusually still. The music is Vivaldi and Clayderman,
provided by Classic Guitar Midis

Shore Acres Winter Storm Screen
Saver
New this season - the fierce intensity of a winter storm off
of the Shore Acres cliffs. These are random photos of the waves off-shore
and crashing on the cliffs, some are quite dramatic. They were taken with
my HP Photosmart 715. Enjoy the grandeur of nature at it's mightiest.
These screen savers need to be registered to get rid of the nag screen and
"reminders" that show up on each screen. Registration is free at this
time, but I encourage you to donate as you see fit to the Friends of Shore Acres

These are self-installing executables. If you are using Internet Explorer click on the link and tell it
"Save this program to disk" or right click and tell it to "Save
Target As ..." With Netscape, click on the link and tell it "Save it
to disk" or right-click and select "Save Link As ..." Save the
file to someplace on your hard drive that you can find later. Once
downloaded, double click on the program and it will install the screen saver
file to your Windows directory. To register your software, go to Desktop Properties and
enter your name and registration code in the settings screen for the screen
saver.
These screen savers are also available on CD for $10 plus postage and handling.
