Labradors

Since 1982

Thank you for visiting Spiritbrook Labrador Retrievers.  It is with our deepest regrets that we are no longer breeding Labradors.  Our Ollie x Penney litter was to be our next generation of working Labradors and we planned to continue to produce into the future, adding show bloodlines into what we consider very good working lines.  Three of the ten puppies from the 1997 litter have retinal dysplasia, with more still to be tested (including the dog we kept for ourselves)  Not one tested to this point have been clear of the problem.  We will be testing a spayed bitch from a previous Penny litter (a full brother/sister accidental breeding) to see if that litter might have also carried the gene.  Until we understand the mode of inheritance, Ollie will not be used at stud.

Ollie needs a retirement home. He hasn't been around kids much and is most happy just hanging around.  There is a goofy black boy Spiritbrook Billy the Kid, from our 1997 litter, would also like a home of his own.  He loves to follow folks around and cuddle.   His brother, the brown dog Spiritbrook Best Friend, is also available to the right home.  The brothers have never been separated, it would be nice if they could go together.
